  • Which would you choose???

Once again I throw in a couple of cars to compare. If I had to choose another Volvo I would definitely go for an s80 V8.i know it was a limited engine choice and came in Awd. The other car would be a more recent Chrysler 300c with the hemi engine that comes in Awd and rear wheel drive standard. Power wise I think the hemi has the advantage but they are two different beasts. For the chrysler, we are not on our third minivan and all three seem to have been soso. Which would you choose and why?

Doesn't the S80 have one of the worst reliabilty records in Volvo history? I think it's a beautiful car but wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole
The 300 is a nice car and don't forget it's an older generation merceds eclass under it's gangster car skin the 300 would probably be cheaper to maintain as well
    You wouldn't understand... it's a 240 thing

ai ragione..bravo Andrea...good call. Ya i was surprised to find out it is an e320 series in a chrysler badge..i wonder if they used the same AWD system as the 4matic from merc..
i also do like the "gangster" look of it, but i think it might be trickier for my wife to drive as she is a bit smaller then me.

The new S80's are super reliable as compared to the '99-'06 model. We have actually had very little issues with both the newer P3 and P1 models....

I like the Chrysler Hemi models alot, although I have to admit that the 300 is my least favorite of the bunch...

I drove the 2012 300 SRT-8 and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8, they were fantastic!

the jeep is the fastest SUV ive ever driven, and probably one of the fastest cars ive ever driven.

Thanks for the comments...ya had test drove a v6 model before buying the Volvo, I liked it, but found the wagon is more practical. I like the hemi and the fact it cuts the cylinders is cool. I know it takes a bit more gas but I like a v8. I just wonder how the rwd. Will handle in the snow?

groanman..actually i did, i test drove one too, i don't know if it was in rough shape or if it was the V6 but seemed a little weak. I did like the roominess inside. I find the 300 has a bit more of a classic look to it.
MATT, i really like the SRT8's crazy cars and sound awesome!!!

With good tires, no problem in the snow, even if it's a rwd.

i don't know which i would get..the rwd or awd??? i know that the awd might be a good choice with winter and all, but i really like the drive or a rwd car. I remember never really getting stuck with my caprice so i think that if the rwd comes with like a "limited slip diff" or something like that with good winter tires, i should be okay...
as for as engines go, noting smaller then a V8. the combination of V8 and RWd is a beautiful thing.

I would stick to Volvo, i tried teh V8 S80 and was in awe. With the deals your membership card gives you and the quality of service we are honnored to have with Roger i find it would be your safest bet.

No matter how awesome an american car seems, and how easily aftermarket goodies can be obtained it will NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER beat the quality you have in a Volvo.

Ive tried the srt8 300 it was awesome, so is the Jeep, but it lacks quality on the inside, was not comfortable in the back seat (jeep+300) and mostly the finish on the paint did not impress me one bit (more orange peel than an actual orange), fake leather, plastic fantastic and the new one everyone seems to be doing: Chromed Plastic!

On the other hand, if you like the mobster look did you check out e550's? 4matic, quality, certified used @ dealer @ great price?

Even though 4matic you can slap on an e55 S/C and enjoy watching all 4 tires smoke up :P

                            Suspension override control units for...220-250$!

Hey Marek, yes i've always loved MERC products, mainly the older models. If i could i would love to get my hands on a nice "DIPLOMAT" car of old (80's-90's S420 or 560)...i love those cars, i even did a test drive years ago of a S560 and man this car just plowed through without feeling a pothole!!!
Of the newer cars, i always liked the E320's and the higher "S CLASS"!!
i know what you mean about the american cars. I have driven in a few of them and yes they aren't as refined as the some of the europeen cars.
My bro and I did test drive an xc90 with the V8, and it drove very nicely, i would love to drive the S80 V8...mmmmm unfortunatly, it seems that volvo wasn't too keen on V8's ( i don't know why )and aren't making them anymore (that's what usually happens to a good thing)...
                              we'll see what happens.
And yes, The volvo gang is a great one, with lots of great people, especially, for me, the gang at VPC has been great with us so far, and Roger is DA MAN!!!
