Juste la-dessus tu peux épargner plusieurs dollars.V60 Cross Country 2018 + Polestar

oui tu as raison...but i've also been thinking of installing a 3" downpipe...i just want to make sure that it will also be legal (o2 sensors) and not just a "Free-flow" one...and then 2.5" all the way down....you think federal would be able to do all this? thanks

Envoyé par chef Voir le messageHi Dave, i'm a little confused, if you go with a larger downpipe but then go back to the smaller stock exhaust, won't it be causing some back-pressure? was thinking of keeping it stock before cat and bigger after that...with a nice deep exhaust tone....thanks

Kinda forgot this tread !!
Because as close as the exhaust gas are from the Turbo the hotter they are and so the more they expend... Stock exhaust size on our p2 T5 ( I'm assuming it's the same for 2.5T ( Wezo00 or Roger can confirm ) is in the 2.5" single tube exhaust...
So have a 3" downpipe will help evacuating quickly the exhaust gases from your turbocharger and go threw the 2.5 tube... Also considering the wave of the air pulse, the faster the engine turns ( or the higher the rpm's are ) the fastest the air comes out of the exhaust tube so the longer the air pulse or airwave is, which result in low possibilities of scavenging, that's another story but my point is that you need some back pressure ( up to a point ) to help that air to go quick and fast enough...
The point of the cat is quite simple: 4 peak whp difference between the 2 exhaust setup is POINTLESS to not having one... Because through all the rpm range you won't feel the difference on the buttdyno for sure !" Breathtaking isn't it ?? Precisely why you should be driving one "

I don't have years of experience, knowledges or friends heavily involved in Volvo extrem tuning like in the VW universe... But the logic is the same...
I have no clue for the stock downpipe size, Wezo00, GunVolvo or rj240 will be the guys that may answer that...
As for the cat size questions.. IF you go for a pre-made DP solution, the pipe and the oulet will all be made in 3" tubing so I'm assuming that if you want something straight foward with no "on the spot modification" you don't have the choice to go high flowing 3" cat...
But if you go with Federal for something 100% home made, they can do you a full 3" downpipe and a reducer from 3" to 2.25-2.5 or whatever the stock inlet tubing size is of the stock cat !
Personally, I'm looking for this product...
