Hi gang, what's up? Don't know if you can help me..i recently had my rotors and pads changed. The car does brake okay, but probably not as good as when i had the stock equipment. I came across this check-list on brake testing...does this make sense for a test?
Functional test
1. with engine stopped, depress the pedal hard and hold that pressure for 15 seconds. If the pedal sinks, the master cylinder, brake line or a caliper is faulty.
2.start the engine with the pedal depressed. If the pedal sinks slightly, the vacuum booster is working. If the pedal height does not vary, the booster or check valve is faulty.
I treid this out, i did it twice... both times i noticed when holding the pedal down that it was slowly sinking and when i turned the key to the "on" position the pedal dropped (almost to the ground). On the second time though, when releasing pedal, i heard an air, "wooshing"sound all the way until the pedal came back up...can this mean anything?? thanks
