turbo works..then stops..and then works again...WTF?

Hi everyone...first off to the gang at VPC...yes you where right about the issues coming back..doh!

anywho..as many of you might know.i recently get a remap for my car. Since then i've been having this issue with the turbo. When it works, it works well, but a moment later, it stops working ...the car still runs, just slow and no CEL on the dash. Then after a bit it seems like the turbo kicks in and then it might off again....
have any of you had this happen to you? is this more a program issue? a mechanical thing? what can i check?

Hi, I am more a dsm guy, but you could always remove you intake pipe and look with you finger for amy shaft play at the turbo inlet. check every hose connecting to it.

well, last night i was looking at the fuse panels and noticed the 15A blade fuse for the fuel pump. It seems to have started to turn black along the blades at the top part (underneith the blue plastic part) ..the "U" shape metal part that breaks when it blows wasn't black and in tact (i tested it was a MM and is okay)...
i put in a new one today and did a reset (unplug battery)...started it up and the turbo was there..went for a good drive (kicked it a few times) and the turbo worked well. As i got off the highway near my home, i came to a stop. As i pressed the gas pedal, i head the turbo working but the car was soooo slow....WTF??? i'm confused...i think it might have to do with the dumb ETM that volvo decided (i still don't know why) to install in their cars....any clues?

I don't understand why you're still searching...

We fault-traced your problem, and the first step that needs to be done is a software upgrade for your ETM!

You can speculate all you want, but we need to do the software upgrade first, in order to continue the fault-tracing process...

As we told you, it sucks, but to begin to resolve your issue, you need to remove your tune, get the update done, and then start from there...

It may or may not fix your issue, but it's the unfortunate first step to resolving your issue...

ROger..thanks, i think i might have to get it done...have you seen these fault codes on other cars before? did it help them clean out any issues they had afterwards? i don't mind getting it done, it's just that i don't wanna have to do all this then it doesn't fix the problem or worst off have to buy a new ETM or something like that...is the fault that occurs, usually a problem with original program or issues that develop along the way? thanks

We've seen these codes many, many times before. The first step is always to perform the softwarte download. In many cases, it resolves the problem. In other cases, it does not resolve the problem, and we end up having to change other parts (including the ETM)...

Unfortunately, the software is the proper first step...
