Farfadais...ya i was underneith the car last night...i noticed that there is a heatshield plate that is attached to and is right above the turbo...i noticed that with the shield was actually touching the downpipe..so i took a pair of pliers and tried to space it out, but i think i will take your advice and add some washers to really space it out...was that the one that you where refering to? any other ones? thanks

There is a flat metal cross plate under the downpipe and on this plate runs the rear o2 sensor and a metal line. it seems like the metal line has 2 plastic clips that hold it in place but one clip is not holding and the other is a little loose...i hope it's not this metal line that is vibrating...don't want it to brake when driving
and other places i can take a look at?
        as for the muffler..any ideas?
        thanks

              maybe this will help??

              update***
well i was underneath the car looking..yet again..
i added 2 small spacer washers on the heat shield that connects to the turbo..figured...can't hurt.

I then noticed one of the (i think) power-steering metal lines (running along the bottom of the frame (running front to back on right side of car) that came loose (front and back) from it's retailing plastic clip..reconnected on both ends

I then moved further back and noticed something..right past the cat is a flat metal plate that runs perpendicular to the exhaust line and is held by 4 bolts and these bolts also hold in place the heat shield liner..one of the 4 bolts where missing, so maybe there was a bit of play on the heat shield causing the vibration? so i put in a spare bolt..we'll see what happens tomorrow..
I'll keep ya posted. (finger's crossed)

the plates (there are 2 plates) I'm talking about aren't those ones.
One is near of the resonator.
They have 12 mm bolts holding it and they retain the large heatshields for the catback.

One plate has 4 bolts and the other one has only 2 bolts. They are in the tunnel and are oriented from side to side, not front to back.

FArfadais..yes i know exactly which one...that's the one i was mentioning..it's the first one right after the cat that has 4 bolts...well one bolt was missing (it''s the one holding the long heat shield that goes towards the back..i guess with the bolt missing the heat shield had a bit of room to vibrate at certain rpm's? we'll see tomorrow how it goes...
I'm also thinking of maybe changing out the muffler and putting in a more quieter one...we'll see..

I put 4 washers on each bolt (for me the trouble was the other plate) and it's been smooth like oem since then

Let me know if your problem is solved

My problem was after the installation of the new downpipe, my line was a little lower. only when hitting the throttle while the car rowls, I had a rattle (very noticable)

It did the exact same thing on my 2 S60 (I installed a downpipe on both)

Thanks for the avatar, it's the best I can do, I don't have nice pics on my car. I bought it on december the 23rd

                                cool
well i took the car for a spin..and the vibration is still there ..can't figure it out....don't know if it still might be that power steering metal line that vibrates or one of the heat shields..but everything seems tight. Can it happen that two close heat shields, even though they are not loose can still vibrate at certain rpms??
                                thanks
