Looking for 98-00 V70 T5...

Looking for a 98-00 V70 T5 project car.
Preferably a manual transmission.
Preferably with a clean body.
Otherwise, I don't really care about mecanical condition. The more repairs that are needed and the less expensive the car the better. Blown engine, tranny, whatever...as long as the price reflects this.

There is one on kijiji, a white one T5. 2000$. seems real clean. But its auto no leather and no sunroof.

Back in the late '90's, there was a company called Vehitech based on the South Shore that specialized in converting Volvo's into police cars. They had limited success selling a few to various municipalites, as well as the SQ. Most of these cars were S70 T5 models, special ordered from Volvo Canada without normal T5 level equipment. They deleted sunroof, leather seats, power seats, leather interior (door panels), ECC, radio, as well as other luxury items that were deemed unnecessary...

I'm scared of these cars because most of them have had a tough life. Many, many hours of idling, questionable maintenance, general heavy driving...

You're right. The current ad is not the same one that you had refered to originally.
However, I saw the posting that you mentioned. Although it did not mention the fact that it was a police pack, because T5's sold in Canada all came standard with sun roof and leather, it's pretty safe to assume the it was a police pack car...

J'ai beaucoup aimer (quand cetait encore sur garantie!), mais la je recherche un T5 manual pour modifier...

J'ai plus de confiance dans la powertrain FWD quand on commence de ajouter de HP...

You won't get wrong if you buy this '00 V70R. Saw the car, perfect condition for the year, well maintained. That guy knows what he is doing and knows alot about Volvo's.

I got his number, if you wanna call him and take a look at the car, trust me you won't waste your time.
